Inspired by his illustrious kin—Siegfried Mynhardt, a thespian of unparalleled gravitas, and Min Shaw, a chanteuse extraordinaire—Shaun embarked on a quest to ensure that the treasures of these legends did not languish in dusty attics or forgotten suitcases.

Shaun, a biographer par excellence, has penned the life stories of South African luminaries like Min Shaw and the late, great Cora Marie. His books, darlings, were bestsellers within mere weeks! But Shaun’s aspirations didn’t end with prose; oh no. He envisioned a haven where the garments, awards, and memorabilia of these legends could live on, celebrated and adored by generations to come.

Thus, on the auspicious date of August 19, 2019, Die Huis Van Legends was born—a private institution, financed solely by passion and determination, without a single penny of subsidy. And what a collection it boasts! Over 15,000 items lovingly archived, with more than 120 exhibits rotating every three months to keep the experience as fresh as a newly pressed tuxedo.
